Mysore: Shobha Spells out Reasons for Her Doom

Daijiworld Media Network – Mysore (SP)

Mysore, Nov 19:  Former minister, Shobha Karndlaje, opined that the successful organization of Dasara celebrations in this city under her guidance, getting involved with flood relief work in north Karnataka and carrying the Swamiji of Mantralaya to Raichur in a helicopter when Mantralaya was inundated, were probably the reasons for her losing the ministerial berth. Speaking at a press meet organized by Mysore District Journalists Association here on Tuesday November 17, she said her success had made certain people to hatch a conspiracy against her, but confessed, she never imagined that the conspiracy would be so big.

She said neither the party high command, nor the Chief Minister, nor had the state BJP president given her any reasons for her ouster.  She explained that she had not encroached upon the government land, and had not used her political position for the benefit of her family. She reiterated that she resigned from the cabinet at the advice of the state BJP president, being a loyal worker of the party.

Refusing to name the conspirators who toppled her from her position, she said, she is happy that her resignation had saved the state government and hoped that the regime under B S Yeddyurappa will complete its full term. Revealing that national leader of the BJP, Murli Manohar Joshi, had told her over phone that he failed to save her, she said, she wants to speak to Sushma Swaraj about the reasons for seeking her resignation, when she meets the leader personally in near future. She sought to assert that at no point of time had she interfered with the affairs of other departments, transfers, allocation of funds etc.
