Dammam, Nov 23: Dammam unit of Dakshina Karnataka Sunni Centre (DKSC) hosted a spectacular ceremony on Friday 20th November in Jubail to felicitate Mangalore MLA UT Khader who was on a visit to Saudi Arabia. The members and well wishers of the organization had gathered in good number to listen to their MLA and have interaction with him.
Dakshina Karnataka Sunni Centre is the largest organization of Bearys in the Gulf region with more than 10,000 membership. Markaz Tha’aleemul Ihasan, a noted Islamic and general education campus in South Karnataka, is sponsored by Dakshina Karataka Sunni centre(DKSC).
The program started with the recitation of Qur’an by Janab Ismail Katipalla. Janab Haji Ismail Kinnya, the working president of DKSC central committee, welcomed the gathering and detailed out the various activities carried out by DKSC. Janab Zainuddeen Mukwe spoke beautifully about late UT Fareed and his son UT Khader narrating incidents from their life where in they have tried out of their way to help the needy people.
Janab Hasan Mooduthota, the General Secretary of DKSC Central Committee enumerated the developmental work going on at Markaz Tha’aleemil Ihsan, the flagship of DKSC, and later submitted a petition to the MLA seeking his assistance to obtain help from the Karnataka Government. Janab Pallikutti Fakrudden submitted a petition seeking speedy introduction of long pending direct flight service between Mangalore and Saudi Arabia.
Janab Haji Ismail Kinnya honored the MLA with a memento. Replying to the felicitation, the MLA said the honor bestowed has made him shoulder responsibilities as well. So, he wished to live up to the expectation by working hard for the service of people. He also said he was overjoyed to see the multiple social activities done by Mangaloreans in Saudi Arabia and wished them good. He lauded the efforts done by DKSC in nurturing an educational Institution of high standard at Muloor , Udupi district and promised sincere efforts from his side to secure benefits from the Government. He assured he would represent the voice of Mangaloreans of Saudi Arabia at appropriate forums for the introduction of direct flights between Mangalore and Saudi Arabia.
