Pallaki Utsav Marks Champa Shashti at Sri Subrahmanya Mutt, Chembur

Champa Shashti Utsav was held at Sri Subrahmanya Mutt, located at suburban Chedda Nagar, Chembur here, recently, which was graced by Sri Vidyaprasannateertha Swami of Subrahmanya Temple, Kukke, Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka.
 
Various Vedic rituals, puja and free food offerings to devotees were held on the occasion. The religious celebrations were performed by temple priest Sriprasad Bhat, Vishnu Karanth, G Krishna Bhat, Ramachandra Bayari and Krishnamurti Upadya. 
 

 

The devotees offerings came into the mutt in the form of grains and pulses. The deity, Lord Subrahmanya was taken in a palanquin through the city streets here, with the music of trumpets, drums and tradition musical instruments. Thousands of devotees joined in the procession.
 
Bhajan group of Srinivas from Udupi staged Harikathe as part of cultural programme.  A devotional music by Vidwan Puttur Narasimha Nayak and group was staged. Sponsors of devotional music S K Urwal couple were honoured by Nagendra Acharya couple on the same occasion.
