Lockdown day 11: Three test positive for coronavirus in DK, count reaches 12

Mangaluru, Apr 4: Three people tested positive for coronavirus in Dakshina Kannada (DK) on Saturday, April 4. No cases were reported from Udupi district.

Out of three cases, a woman had landed at Mangaluru International Airport from Dubai and two others had taken part in Tablighi Jamat at Delhi.

The woman hails from Udupi. Authorities said that as many as 32 contacts of the woman have been traced and placed under home quarantine. 

The laboratory reports of nine people among 29 who took part in the conference are received till now. The reports of the remaining 20 people are awaited. If there are any others who participated in the conference, they are directed to approach district administration and district health officials immediately.

In Udupi, none were tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday.

No positive cases were reported from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district on Thursday and Friday.

Kasargod

As many as 11 tested positive for coronavirus in Kerala on Saturday. Six of them were from Kasargod, and one each from Kollam, Alapuzha, Ernakulam, Palakkad and Kannur.

    The "Markaz" effects, have now touched the shores of Dakshin Kannada district !!!! This will certainly send alarm bells among residents in Mangaluru city, despite the virtual crackdown on all traffic movement on the Kerala border !!!! We in Mumbai, are on tenterhooks, as numerous more positive cases, have been detected in our metropolis !!!!

    That's coz testing rates have increased drastically, but 98% will overcome ; only 1-2% may succumb due to other comorbid conditions or old age!

    Most of positive cases in DK and udupi are due to people coming From UAE
