PM Modi's call to light lamp against coronavirus: Miscreants set hill on fire at Uppinangady

Puttur, Apr 6: The entire nation responded positively to the call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to light lamp or torch at 9 pm on Sunday, April 5 in order to show solidarity in the fight against coronavirus pandemic. But in a bizarre incident that occurred at Uppinangady in the taluk, a miscreant set a hill on fire and escaped from the spot.

It is said that a miscreant came in bike, lighted the fire and escaped from the spot. The locals who saw the fire on the hill immediately swung into action and put it off. A local has made video of the same and posted on social media.

Locals have urged the authorities to arrest the culprit at the earliest.

    Lighting Diya, candle and torch will help reduce the Coronavirus may be true or not. At this moment I am ready to worship devil, if the virus is eradicated and human lives are saved.

    The miscreants should be apprehended and given exemplary punishment!
    BTW, the day before one MLA was reported to have given some babyish statement along with distribution of diyas & candles, this foolishness need to be stopped as there is no dearth of fools in the audience!

    BJP MLA from Mysuru, S A Ramdas, said that if lamps are lit, the viruses approach the lamps and get destroyed by the heat of the lamps. Taking a cue from him, the miscreants may have thought, by giving fire to the hill, corona virus from their village and surrounding villages may be attracted and get destroyed.

    I am a keen reader of our articles and comments,but disappointed to note the instance here when you have come out demanding an explanation for disagrees ! There have been many more deserving cases before also.Have they escaped your attention ?
    Santan writes and I quote " The miscreants may have thought giving fire to the hill.........." So in his heart Santan knows that the one setting fire to hill is a miscreant. Yet he wants to score some political points here ! Very sad.
