Mangalore: Two-day Sports Tournament for Police Inaugurated in City

Mangalore, Dec 16:
Deputy commissioner (DC) V Ponnuraj, inaugurated the two-day police tournament at police grounds in the city on Monday December 16.
 
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the sports activities help police freshen their minds and get back to their duty with renewed vigour. The district police have greater responsibilities in the district during disturbances of law and order that are sensitive in nature, he said.



DC congratulated police personnel of the district for handling cases smoothly under directions of the superintendent of police and other senior police officials. The inauguration of tournament was held by passing on the sports torch.
 
Police personnel from various police stations in the district are participating in various events at the tournament. The tournament will conclude on December 17 with a valedictory function.
 
Superintendent of police Dr A S Rao and additional superintendent of police Ramesh were also present.
