Bengaluru, Apr 18: As the coronavirus situation in the country is not showing signs of improvement, in general, it is felt that lockdown might not be lifted even on May 3. This analysis is being done on the basis of detailed suggestions and instructions issued by the union department of health over managing of lockdown.

The guidelines speak about lockdown, seal down and buffer zone. Restrictions can be lifted in a controlled zone only four weeks after the last negative coronavirus case is reported. The affectively means that a month's wait is a must for an area to be open for free movement after it breaks free from all kinds of coronavirus infection.

Experts believe that the pandemic continues to raise its ugly head in various areas because of the fact that the people in many areas are not serious in observing lockdown conditions. Many a time, restrictions and social distancing are being compromised. This has been giving rise to increased number of infected people, which means that lockdown clearance will automatically get postponed.

Buffer zones are areas located in a radius of five km around the controlled zones in case of cities and seven km in case of rural areas. Close watch has to be kept on buffer zones and social distancing needs to be strictly implemented here. First one km radius around the controlled zone is treated as intensive buffer zone where house to house visits need to be conducted to conduct tests on people.

In case seal down announcement is necessitated, the zones will have a single entry and exist point. Here, close watch is to be kept and social distancing is strictly implemented. People cannot venture out of houses for any reason. Even private vehicles are not allowed to move and the police should own entire responsibility of ensuring this, as per instructions. Only in emergency cases can the police issue passes, the rules say.
