Kaup: Unfortunate accident at Uchila claims driver's life

Kaup, Apr 21: In a accident which occurred at Uchila near here, a lorry rammed into another lorry that had got stranded on the highway at Uchila after developing snags.

The driver of the first lorry was repairing his vehicle when the other lorry hit him, thus causing his instant death.

The accident happened at around 4 am on Tuesday April 21.

A case in this connection was registered in Padubidri police station.

    Very unfortunate and sad incident.Iam sure the deceased driver was repairing his vehicle on the road itself without the needed lights and distance.So other vehicle came from behind must have not had the speed control and recognize the vehicle was standing.One should learn to park with proper lightening away from normal road where traffic is busy.Heartfelt sympathys to his family.May his soul rest in peace .Same time who caused the accident should also be taken to task .

    The vehicle that was failed on the motorway was not secured with proper signage to alert the vehicles that are approaching from behind. Speed in not part of this accident. The vehicle loaded with such load will not stop immediately.
    Both drivers looks like not trained drivers. They only know how to drive? You can get driving license very easily in India. Several time I was on these roads and observed the vehicles on the road and the way they overtake. The 2 wheelers act like they own the whole road. Until driving licenses are issued like gulf countries ( proper test without single mistake) It is quite impossible to improve indian driving standards.

    After losing one life.... no one should make complaint.... But my humble request to those Drivers with break-down vehicle.... pls try to park your vehicle not very close to the main road.... Most of the time these Drivers' park their vehicle very near to main road and this is what happens then!!!

    RIP... very sad
    The RTO should impose heavy fines who ever stops the vehicles on the road unless its absolute necessary and without hazard lights. People just dont care about other road users and dont realize the dangers.
    Only heavy fines will make people understand the dangers.

    RIP. Sad a life is lost. We are very poor in respecting the safety of others while driving, stopping or parking. There is absolutely no respect for the rights and safety of other road users.
    Just notice the way vehicles are stopped, buses collecting and dropping passengers on the middle of the road. Police cars just watch and stop/wait behind these buses accepting this practice as road in-discipline in India.
