Ramanagara: Family friction - Man marries inter-caste widow at police station

Daijiworld Media Network - Ramanagara (SP)

Ramanagara, Apr 23: After a man's proposal to accept an inter-caste widow as his wife was resisted by his family members, the lovers married in the presence of the police at Sathanur police station in Kanakapura taluk of the district.

The couple who became life partners in this way are Pavan and Shruthi. Pavan is from Tavaraghatta village in Kanakapura while Shruthi is from Moolegunde in Kanakapura.

Shruthi had loved and married another person named Pavan three years back. But death snatched away her life partner within days of their marriage. Shruthi thereafter had remained alone since the last three years.

Pavan came forward to marry Shruthi but Pavan's parents were against this alliance. Therefore, Pavan had sought help from the police. Sathanur police who questioned both of them in detail, pooled information about them. After the police investigation found that the two were eligible for marriage, they came forward to host the marriage. The couple therefore married each other in the presence of the police personnel.

The two made it a point to wear masks and maintain social distance when marrying.

The main issue is food habits do not match, and many other issues such as language etc. do not match...
Moreover, try your best to satisfy your parents, who have done so many sacrifices for you in their life..

RSRB Kundapura,it is silly reason you have given.Food habits can be adjusted.Mostly in each caste their religion habits performoance differs. But many want their own caste continue in future.A goldshmied wants to marry same caste etc.Leave it alone. But two adults want to marry with own will should be respected I find.Big respect to the man who came forward to marry a widow with all family friction.wish them a happy married life.

That he is giving a life to a widow is itself a nobility. Which heartless people still go after caste ?
