29 new coronavirus cases raise Karnataka tally to 474


Bengaluru, Apr 24 (IANS): Karnataka registered 29 new coronavirus cases, raising the state's tally to 474, said an official on Friday.

"As of 5 pm Friday, cumulatively 474 positive cases have been confirmed in the state. It includes 18 deaths and 152 discharges," said a health official.

In the past 24 hours, seven patients got discharged, taking the number of cured people from 145 to 152.

Among the places with high case-load, Vijayapura and Mandya are yet to record a discharge.

Of the 304 active cases, 299 patients, including a pregnant woman, are isolated at designated hospitals and are stable, except five in ICU.

Among the 29 new cases, Bengaluru Urban accounted for 19, followed by Bagalkot 3, Raibagh, Belagavi, and Vijayapura, two each and Chikkaballapura, Tumakuru and Mandya, one each.

On Friday, 11 more contacts of the Hongasandra case, a 55-year-old man, designated as 419th positive case, have tested positive.
