Bantwal, Apr 25: Another coronavirus positive case has been confirmed in the district. A 33-year-old woman from Bantwal, who had come in contact with the patient identified as P-409, who happens to be the daughter of the lady who is currently being treated in a hospital, is found to have contracted the infection. She stands admitted into Wenlock Hospital here. She had been quarantined here on April 19.

Four coronavirus positive cases have so far been recorded from Bantwal Kasaba and two among them have died. Two from the same family are now being treated in the COVID hospital.

The first coronavirus-related death was reported from the district in the form of a patient from Bantwal on April 19. Her mother-in-law too succumbed to the infection on April 23. From the woman who lost her battle with coronavirus first, a 67-year-old woman in her neighbourhood was infected. Now her daughter has proved to be coronavirus positive.

With this, the number of positive patients in Dakshina Kannada, has increased to 18. Twelve have been discharged after getting cured completely, four are currently being treated, and two have passed away.
