Bengaluru: MP Nalin demands identification of Tablighis who skipped corona test

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Apr 25: Karnataka state BJP president and MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, has urged chief minister (CM), B S Yediyurappa, to take measures to see that those who participated in the Tablighi Jamaat at Delhi but skipped coronavirus tests thereafter, are found and subjected to these tests. He noted that there are many Tablighis who have not yet undergone tests.

Kateel handed over a petition to the chief minister containing these demands when he met him on Friday April 24.

He also urged the CM to initiate stringent action against the miscreants who engineered trouble at Padarayanapura. He also demanded registration of case against MLA Zameer Ahmed Khan, who was responsible for the unrest in that locality.

He sought extension of protection to health workers who are fighting against COVID 19 pandemic. He also demanded granting of special honorarium to ASHA workers, nurses and Anganwadi workers. He suggested to issue them personal protection equipment, thermometers and other facilities.

He suggested that when allowing government and privately owned enterprises to become functional, a gap should be maintained. He sought private and government works to resume. He said that masks should be supplied to poor people and workers free of cost.

Sir, also please take out a little of your precious time of & check out what happened in Bantwal where a health agency worker was using thermometer on multiple innocent people without disinfecting the same! Instead of being of help to the ignorant poor, such shocking procedures r sure to spread infection uncontrolled; if this is what our health agencies do then what's the value of locdown in first place?
Only very strict action against those involved in this dangerous testing procedure will bring back the confidence of common man that all's working well as per protocol!!
    Thanks,
    Jai Hind!!

    To all dear commentators
We all must understand that we have a long journey ahead and we better shed all these differences as we march forward . It is foolishness to be in that same communal blindness for ever. Let us understand in the fight against covid , doctors, volunteers of all religions are giving their selfless service irrespective of religion. If this great pandemic doesn't teach us to be human then what else can? Don't highlight on few culprits instead focus on so many good people..Lets not be like opportunists trying to color everything...

When you talk about 30 percent or 50 percent, you have to see how many from that group were tested and what was the selection criteria for testing. You should understand what is 'sample selection bias'.
In majority of cases people carrying this infection are asymptomatic and will be found positive only if tested.
In the first two weeks of April, Government decided to aggressively trace and test all the Tablighis in the country who were thousands in number and so it is not surprising that their percentage is high in the total number of positives. Most of the tests done in those two weeks were only on those Tablighis.
There were also lakhs of people who arrived from Gulf countries, especially from Dubai in March but only their body temperature was checked on arrival. Many common people who are not Tablighis also may be found positive if you test them aggressively like they did for Tabligh jamath members.

Readers, being a neutral commentator who is a pro India, only desire is that Covid19 plague, which is raging, must be banished n neutralized from our nation !! We realize fully well, that this pandemic graph, spiked after the religious conclave in Delhi !!! Till date, there are foreigners, who came as tourists, were illegally involved with religious activities, refused to surrender before the authorities, disappeared and went underground, in different states of our country...They knowingly n deliberately spread the highly contagious infections, to innocent civilians of our society.... they must be identified, tested, jailed for violation of VISA laws and finally kicked out from our soil !!!!!

Why there was no demand to arrest BJP MLA who celebrated his birthday with 150 people?? Why there was no demand to arrest BJP MLA who celebrated pooja to the fire God with 30 people...
Why discrimination between the religion and parties. Since you are the state president of the ruling party at the center and state treat every religion and every citizen equal and don't play politics.

Mr Ikran. First of all there is no bias in any hospitals as far as i know based on religion. Secondly forget about politicians of what they say. They keep on doing things no matter what your opinion is about them. Can you do a small favor by helping the authorities to find the infected thabligis so that you me and the entire country can be safe.

Mr Gilbert, subject to bias in hospitals, you might not be aware of news headlines concerning these issues rampantly prevalent throughout India.

Secondly, regarding the Tablighis, most of them were checked. Many came back negative and those who did come positive, they were placed under quarantine, were treated and are even recovering.

All the hype regarding Tablighis aside, it would be more helpful if the people pointing fingers at Tablighis so fiercely, get themselves checked for Covid-19 so that we all Indians can leave happily.

Commenting here wont help . Where is the DK Congress and our so called leaders sleeping? Ideally there should have been some action from them. Something concrete, You cannot expect leaders like RaGa or MMs issue statements from Delhi and the DK Cong keep quiet. Now there is no action or response from any of the DK leaders? This the irony,I always highlight. But I am asked to shut up by my very own people. No wonder we are mocked as 'internet karsevaks' and are ignored.

Dear, I don't know where do you see politics in this. All his demands are genuine and must be addressed in the larger public interest. Fact of the matter is more than 4 thousand people infected across country with corona by directly or indirectly through Tablighi Jamaat event at Delhi. Worse is people are not coming forward for test and still hiding. This is the huge risk not only for them and their family but for the whole country. Let us understand the severity of the issue at hand rather getting in to silly excuses like politiics/religion ..etc.

Petition touched by 3 people, and the virus remains 3-4 hours active on paper and cardboard.
That too all three people exchanging paper without any hand gloves.
Secondly random test must happen on large scale, and we do not have sufficient means for that. Tabligi jamat members must do the tests. but no mention of 1800 pilgrims brought back from Haridwar to Gujarat by luxury buses, 1000 people stuck in Sadgurus ashram, hundreds of people participated in Kalaburi festival and the list is long.
Random tests FOLLOWED BY QUARANTINE IS THE ONLY WAY TO PREVENT THIS FURTHER. PLEASE INSTEAD OF DOING POLITICS, PLEASE ARRANGE TO START THE RANDOM TEST IS CROWDED AREAS FIRST AND THEN MOVE TO LESS CROWDED AREAS.
