CM Yediyurappa pleads for online donations sans physical appearance

Bengaluru, Apr 25 (IANS): Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Saturday pleaded with COVID-19 donors to transfer donations online, rather than meeting him personally with cheques to uphold physical distancing amid lockdown.

"It is my humble request to all Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF) donors to please send over contributions online rather than to me in person by cheque," tweeted Yediyurappa.

Though the intention of meeting him personally and handing over the cheques is appreciated, Yediyurappa said such physical appearances will defeat the goal of physical or social distancing in COVID-19 times.

"Although your deed is greatly appreciated, meeting in person beats the purpose of social distancing," he said.

Yediyurappa promised that all donations will be acknowledged and brought to his notice even though contributed online sans physical appearance.

"Your donations will be acknowledged and brought to my notice through my team even when done online," he observed.

The CMRF website is also asking donors to tweet the details of their donations for an official government retweet.

In our country where we are leaving you can find many people whom you can directly help in these difficult situation. And you see by the time the govt. Distribute those familis will be not there to receive as it happens in the past . So my suggestion you can do yourself around your locality as I do myself.

    Dear People

I am not against people donating to PM care or CM relief fund. Just think by the time when donated money reaches to the poor sector or to the deserved group god alone knows who will be alive or dead . Once the goes to such fund there are too many stake holders to manage that money and to take commissions and at the end that money will not reach the poor people .
So my kind request is that instead of donating g there people look around for people around you who are in need of actual food and money for medicine and donate there and then and you will be happy and you will get blessings from god . Fr example Daijiworld drive was the best one .

    Regards

As per reports, no proper monitoring of PM Cares fund. Even though Modi has made that account with good intension, lot of middlemen who are handling the transaction might misuse the fund!

Also Modi, can distribute the fund for his political benefit, keeping upcoming assembly elections! None of the CMs can rightfully demand help from it!

As per my understanding, south and western states including Karnataka are the highest contributors in revenue to the exchequer. Secondly, all political parties and politicians in particular collect huge amount of money during election and post election to form the government. That hard earned money is contributed by poor general public in terms of taxes. There no need to cry/panic in emergency; if we shake them million dollars will fall and that is more than sufficient to cater the need of poor. They only have to think that "virus'' as an ''election'' and have to fight form the government (virus) .Money automatically fall from every where without asking anyone. Hope our politician will improve /understand and contribute from their hidden booty first and serve the poor as a role model.

Why its always BJP govt in the centre and BJP ruled states beg for donation from jobless poor people. How can we rely on this govt if some war or big calamities breaks out. No wonder this govt was about to sell the country if not for timely intervention by Rahul Gandhi. In any case BJP mettle is tested from all angles.

The state of Karnataka is one of the top five states in India paying highest taxes to the Center treasury. In return the state share is negligible. Even the GST return to the state is not fully paid.

When it comes 'operation Kamala' toppling the government and buying winning MLA's BJP is never dearth of money. So far there are 8 states in India people mandate has been rejected by the party making democracy worthless.

The BJP’s top two richest candidates are Nandish Reddy from K R Puram and Uday B Garudachar from Chickpet, both realtors. They have assets valued at Rs 303.06 cr and Rs 190 cr respectively.

It BJP which worship 'Bharat Mata' with devotion riches party of India with 10 crores members. Why can't every member donate his months salary?

Why the CM Yediyurappa is not asking the share from 'PM Cares' if he real cares for India?
Why the 'PM Cares' funds are not opaque and disclose day to day fund received and spend in government portal?

Veer, you must be aware that Sonia & fake Gandhi family have swallowed our monies during UPA 1 and 2, 10 long years. When a pandemic comes, every Govt will seek funds from citizens. You don't want to give, don't give, but don't bad mouth your own country!

What NDA has swallowed and stolen is no other govt has done in record short period. You had also swore as your election promise to put all UPA ministers in jail for corruption and bring all black money back from Swiss account within 100 days of assuming power but sadly it is still pending. What I am doing to the people is what I am doing to the country which supreme to me but not to the corrupt and criminal party.

Sir, The RSS political wing BJP members are the only claiming to hardcore nationalist. It is time to return when 'Bharat Mata' is in trouble. Being richest democratic party of India it becomes duty of every member of BJP to donate full salary into 'PM Care' so that Modiji can care for India when all banks in India is looted under the watchful eyes of 'Chowkidhar'.
Please make point that your don't buy anything Chines, wear only Khadi and donate your salary for charity to save India.

Every citizen pays enough money to the government in different forms. May be income tax , sales tax so on so forth. So when the government pleads for money from it’s citizens it clearly shows how badly they manage tax payers’ money.

Withdraw all securities to ministers including yourself. This will save hundreds of crores. Make online delivery of liquor it will bring revenue of Rs. 100 crores every day. Within one month you will bring in 3,000 crores. All the time the govt has been increasing VAT on liquor in order to pay farmers loan or for some other purpose. Drinkers are the backbone of the country. So two issue withdraw security and open online liquor sale.

Tejaswi Surya and other ministers in your cabinet repeatedly said that state govt has enough money to pay for flood victims and farmers but so far none have received anything. Nobody knows the state of treasury. There is no accountability nor any transparency with govt. It's time opposition demands white and black paper of state finances and auditing. This goes same for the country too.
