BJP helping loan defaulters, govt must respond: Congress

New Delhi, Apr 28 (IANS): The Congress on Tuesday slammed the government for writing off loans of top fifty wilful defaulters to the tune of Rs 68,607 crore, saying the government and the Finance Minister should come clean on it. The Congress charged the BJP with helping the defaulters.

"Till April 24, Rs 68,607 crore have been written off by the government. The Prime Minister can not evade this question by keeping silent," said Congress Chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala.

The Congress said Rahul Gandhi had asked this question in Parliament, but the government did not respond. "But now an RTI has revealed the magnitude of the waiver," he said.

"As much as Rs 8,048 crore have been written off of Mahul Choksi and Nirav Modi. Another diamond merchant Jatin Mehta's Rs 6,048 crore too have been written off, and so is the case with Kingfisher's Vijay Mallya. Similar is the case with the relations of these defaulters," said Surjewala.

The Congress said the "Jan-Dhan Gaban Yojna cannot go without the knowledge of the top echelon of the government, including the Prime Minister".

The party said such write-offs have come to light at a time when the government is freezing Dearness Allowance of the Central government employees and the Army personnel.

The Congress alleged that in the last 5.5 years, the government has written off Rs 5.10 lakh crore of the default money till september 2019. "Now this amount has gone up to Rs 6.66 lakh crore".

The Congress has said the government is not willing to give an economic package of Rs 1 lakh crore to the states during the pandemic.

"Will the government take any action against wilful defaulters still in the country?" asked the party Social media handle.

The BJP has fine tuned the corruption that Prime Minister Modi before 2014 election wanted to eradicate within 100 days resuming office.
All the 'Corny capitalist' who sponsored BJP election campaign are given outright loan on the expenses of people deposits in the banks. Once the banks stop making profit then merged with the stronger banks. Then these capitalist made escape under the watchful eyes of 'Chowkidhar' to country were Interpol can't reach and no extradition treat exist with the India. Then the same money come to India as an investment or electoral bonds to the party that has no CAG auditing.

This is how the corruption circumvents to BJP's coffers that is being utilized for toppling opposition governments, utilized for publicity in India and abroad and to buy political influences in powerful nations.
Today India has no money for health care system. The state government employees are forced to pay one day salary till May 2021. No money to put into account of the unorganized employees Jan Dhan bank account. people have nothing eat.But BJP want surplus rice stock to convert Ethanol for commercial purposes. The state government are not paid the tax returns and left to tackle crisis on their own.

But who sponsored the BJP party funds are made escape with loot.

Dear Ms Swati. If a bank manager gives a loan and gets transferred to another branch, will d new manager of the branch collect the loan or sit down quietly and say, i did not give. All these r simply political gimmicks. Loan given must be taken back, no matter who gves it. Excuses given bybthis Govt and U are very LAME. Pls do a little research on how economy works and then place ur point, giving a colourful point is not advisable. The words should weigh as well. Hope everything is fine in GCC. Stay home, stay safe and stay healthy and happy. Go well all.

Madam, This question was raised in Parliament by Mr.Rahul Gandhi and went answered by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharman and Goli Maro Junior minister Anurag Takur.
Since PM Modi came to power in 2014 banks wrote off Rs 6,60,000 crore worth bad loans. More than 35 willful defaulters who left India are the key BJP sponsored for party funds.

@swati.. no loan since 2014. Get well soon. All works r on loan by ur modi ji.
Ur godfather modi destroyed Yes bank to waive of the loan of anil ambani ₹12,8000 crore and 8,400 crore of zee news owner. Modi is biggest scammers PM of India. Modi/BJP spend ₹ 20,000 to 40,000 crore to win election. RBI has no record of NPAs before 2014.
Upto March, 2014 total NPAs of India wwere ₹2.04 lakh crore (67 years), upto December, 2109 it became 10.44 lakh crore.
If u hv guts then ask ur modi how much loan he took after 2014 and how many govt. investments he sold and why he put his dalals everywhere.. .. from Media to Supreme court.
U'll not ask as bhkts don't raise questions... They just follow.

This is time and place during parliament session for BJP if it has proof to level charges against congress and send congress leaders to jail. BJP talks only in public bhashans accusing congress but face to face it has no voice. What happened to the allegations of 70 years of congress corrupt rule?. What happened to giving loan to defaulters?. What happened to black money in Swiss banks?. Is BJP having foot in mouth disease now???.....

Freezing DA of Govt employees and writing off loans of WILFUL DEFAULTORS is a SIN which will never be pardoned. Chidambaram rightly quoted the case of 2008 at the time of world economic crisis, money out in hands of a common man would generate more money for spending and moving the wheels of the economy. Where hav these learnt their Basic Economics from?? The real test of this Govt starts now, to bring back economy to its glory, but they have one cushion, crude prices are at the least, storage of crude at an all time high. Good Luck Modi and TEAM. Time for some visible action. Go well all.
