Mangalore, Dec 28: K Padmanabha Kottary, former member of legislative assembly was unanimously elected district BJP president at Scouts Bhavan in city on Monday December 28. The election was held under the former MLA and party recommended election officer for the district president’s selection Sunil Kumar



Speaking after the election, state president of BJP D V Sadananda Gowda said that strict action will be taken against undisciplined legislators and leaders of the party. Since the party is recognized foremost for its discipline, in the background of recent incidents in the party the image has been severely damaged. Hence there is a need for immediate action plan as a damage control exercise; he said warning leaders and MLAs involved activities that are adversely affecting the party image.
 
Without naming the persons who are involved in such activities he said that it is a shame that such elements are behind power. A letter in this regard has been sent to party high command. The legislative committee meeting will take decision to control the same, he said adding that the meeting is scheduled to be held on Tuesday December 29 in Bangalore.
 


Denying that there were differences on the issue of ministership offered to Renukacharya, Sadananda Gowda said that his elevation to cabinet ministry was the result of clear signal from all leaders and legislators.
 
Erstwhile district president Monappa Bhanday, district in-charge minister J Krishna Palemar, Mangalore south MLA N Yogish Bhat, MLC Capt anesh Karnik and Sudhir Shetty, president of BJP city committee were present.
