Mumbai, Jan 4: Ambatanaya Mudrady, president of Udupi district Kannada Sahitya Parishat, veteran teacher, litterateur, Yakshagana artiste and a multi-faceted personality, was felicitated by his former students, well wishers and community brethren at a felicitation programme held here on Sunday January 3.
Chief guest Karnataka state home minister Dr V S Acharya felicitated Mudrady in a felicitation function held at Gokul auditorium, Sion (East), here. Jayasrikrishna Parisara Premi Samiti founder president Tonse Jayakrishna A Shetty released Sumanasa, commemorative book on the occasion.
Divyasagar Group president Mudrady Divakar Shetty and Padmashali Samaj Seva Sangh president Balakrishna M Shettigar among others were present. Renowned Yakshagana Bhagavat Polya Laxminarayan Shetty delivered the felicitation address.
A seminar on ‘The works of Mudrady’ was held on Sunday morning, which was presided over by renowned litterateur Dr Sunitha M Shetty. Dr Kabbinale Vasant Bharadwaj, Dr Padekal Vishnu Bhat and Dr Padmanabha Kekunnaya participated in the seminar.
Tereda Kannu, book on collection of articles by late G V Shettigar, who was a well known teacher at Kannada Night High School in the metro and a story writer too was released.
Cultural programmes were held by the women troupe of Padmashali Samaj Seva Sangh and Bharatanatyam show was presented by the troupe of Dance Academy, Bangalore, which was directed by Sandhya Keshav Rao.
Mudrady felicitation committee president Pernankila Haridas Bhat, honorary secretary G T Acharya, S K Sundar and K T Shetty too were present.
