Forget Bitterness, Work as a Unit - Yeddy Tells Dissident MLAs
BANGALORE, Jan 5 (ENS): Dissident activities in the state BJP are likely to be put on hold at least till the next Budget session as Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and the warring legislators on Monday decided to forget the bitterness of the past and work as a unit in the future.
The decision, though, has come for a price. According to the compromise formula arrived at the BJP legislature party meet, the CM will restructure his Cabinet after the Budget session and will make fresh nominations to boards and corporations after Sankranti.
In lieu of this, the BJP legislators, who have been vocal about their demands till now, will maintain stoic silence till the Budget session is over. They will air their grievances, if any, only in the party forum hereafter and strict action will initiated against those who violate the formula.
The decision to change some of the district incharge ministers was also taken in the meeting and is likely to coincide with the Cabinet reshuffle.
State BJP president D V Sadanand Gowda said the legislators had decided to work as a unit and that all their demands will be met. “I am really happy that the meeting was held in good atmosphere,” he said.
On nominations to boards and corporations, he said the decision to take resignation of all the existing nominees and make fresh nominations has also been taken. However, care would be taken to ensure equal share for the party and the legislators.
The CM and the leadership would ensure that MLAs are treated with respect and their demands on development will be met on priority.
There would be regular interaction with legislators from the party leadership.
Barring 12 MLAs, 5 MLCs, and 6 MPs all legislature party members attended the meeting.
