TN govt appoints 2,570 nurses on contract basis


Chennai, May 8 (IANS): The Tamil Nadu government on Friday said 2,570 nurses will be appointed on a six month contract to serve in the Covid-19 wards.

In a statement issued here the government said, 2570 nurses will be appointed on a six month contract.

Such persons have to report for duty within three days of receiving the appointment orders.

The appointment comes in the wake of Tamil Nadu registering a higher number of Covid-19 patients in recent times.

On Thursday, 580 persons tested positive in the state taking the total tally of 5,409 persons.

The total number of active cases in Tamil Nadu stands at 3,822 after factoring Covid-19 dead and discharged patients.
