Mumbai: Audience Savour Art Treat at Arangetram of Three Budding Dancers

Mumbai, Jan 9: It was a treat for art connoisseurs of metro, recently with the three budding danseuses presenting Arangetram, the first traditional Bharatanatyam performance.

Trisha Rai, Shruti Alva and Suvidhi Shetty, disciples of Girija Nair mesmerized the audiences gathered at Kalidasa Hall in Mulund (West) here. The artistes performed dance items, Pushpanjali, Ganesha Kautukum, Alaripu, Jatiswaram and abhinayas, Bhagyada Lakshmi, Sri Ramachandra and Krishna Nee as part of the rangapravesha presentation.






















Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Udupi Pejawar Mutt, who graced the occasion, blessed the three upcoming Bharatnatyam artistes. The three girls along with their parents also paid obeisance to their Guru Girija Nair in a Guru Vandana programme. Mulund Bunts president Nagriguttu Vivek Shetty and Girija Nair of Geeta Nritya Vidyalaya were the guests of honour.

Trisha Rai is the daughter of Tukaram Rai and Shakuntala Rai, members of Mulund Bunts executive committee, while Shruti Alva is daughter of Satish Alva and Chandraka Alva and Suvidhi Shetty, the daughter of Dinkar Shetty and Sujaya Shetty.
