Train leaves on return journey from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi


Thiruvananthapuram, May 15 (IANS): The first train to Delhi from here, following the resumption of select train services earlier this week, left at 7.45 p.m. on Friday with 295 passengers - 183 men and 112 women - aboard.

It will take more passengers from Ernakulam and from Kozhikode and will reach Delhi on Sunday.

Though 299 passengers had booked, two who did not have a travel pass, and another two others who had issues in their ticket, were not allowed to board the train.

Before boarding, all the passengers were examined by a panel of medical professionals and instructed that all through they should wear a mask and all the protocols should be observed.

This train had reached here on Friday morning from Delhi.
