Affordable housing, clean environment in Delhi Master Plan


New Delhi, May 18 (IANS): Delhi Lt. Governor Anil Baijal on Monday said Master Plan for Delhi (MPD) 2041 will provide a transformative approach for affordable housing, environment regeneration, availability of public spaces, service planning and robust economy, after he held a meeting to review the progress of the preparations.

Baijal in a series of tweets said the development of resilient infrastructure with efficient resource management, move towards cleaner technology, regeneration of heritage precincts and urban renewal strategies are to be the guiding principles for the plan.

"Strategic Greenfield development incentivising clean economies, entertainment and cultural hubs through public participation will open opportunities to stimulate the city's economy while creating massive infrastructure for the city," he said.

Baijal said the MPD 2041 will "provide a transformative approach for affordable housing, environment regeneration, availability of public spaces, service planning & robust economy."

He held a review meeting with the National Institute of Urban Affairs and the Delhi Development Authority.

"MPD 2041 will focus on redevelopment and regeneration of built fabric using innovative strategies," he added.
