Mumbai, Jan 27: Metro-based Konkani Triveni Kala Sangama celebrated 29th founder’s day at Dwarakanat Bhavan of Sri Rama Mandir,Wadala, here recently.
Sri Vidyadirajateerta Swamiji of Jeevottam Mutt, Gokarna graced the occasion and honoured the artistes of Konkani Triveni Kala Sangama.
Speaking on the occasion, Swami Vidyadirajateerta said that the Konkani community is known for its age-old traditions and it should strive to foster it among the new generation of community.
Konkani Triveni Kala Sangama president Ullas Kamath briefed about the achievements of the organization.
Swamiji also felicitated Supreme Court lawyer M V Kini, Natural Ice Cream proprietor Raghunandan S Kamath, Shamarao Vittal Co-operative Bank chairman N S Rao, Ashok Nayak, Seema V Kamath, Jayanti V Prabhu and Maya K Saraf on the occasion.
Konkani Triveni Kala Sangama president Ullas Kamath and vice-president Dr C N Shenoy among others were present.
Sangama executive president Ullas Kamath welcomed the gathering. Vice president Dr C N Shenoy proposed the vote of thanks. Archana M compered the programme.
Konkani Triveni Kala Sangama was established at Dwarakanath Bhavan by a few amateur Konkani stage artistes in 1980. Since then it has staged several excellent plays across the country. It has also bagged Vishwa Konkani Kala Ratna award for staging a play during World Konkani Convention held in Mangalore in 1995.
