Mumbai, Jan 29: A South Indian cultural festival was held at Mysore Association premises, Matunga, recently. The festival was organized by metro-based South Indian Cultural Co-ordination Committee (SICCO).
 
Karnataka state legislative council deputy speaker Puttanna inaugurated the programme.

 
Maharashtra president of the Muslim Welfare League, Metro Mohammed Haji presided over the programme.
 
‘Vaastu’ expert Chandrashekar was the chief guest on the occasion.
 
Retired deputy general of police of Karnataka K V R Tagore released the ‘Sabarimale Kshetra Yatre’, the book published by Kannada Kairala Prakashan, while Mysore Association president V Ramachandra released the special issue of ‘Kannada Kairali’.
 
Paradigm Group chairman M I Kulavoor and Kerala Tulu Academy member Umesh Salian were honoured during the programme.
 
Ankitha Rai and group staged a Kannada cultural programme and Rajan Muluyar and group staged ‘Bheemanan Manushyan’, a Malayalam play.  Classical musician Vidwan Ajay Namboodiri of Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt presented a musical concert on the occasion.
 
Secretary Ratnakar Matta and treasurer Balakrishna Kanakapady were present on the dais.
 
SICCO president M I Para welcomed the gathering.  Ravi Naikapu proposed the vote of thanks.  ‘Kannada Kairali’ editor I R Subbayyakatte and Prof Ratnakar Mallamule compered the programme.
