Kuwait, Feb 9: IMA Youth Wing will hold a conference on the theme 'From Darkness to Light' on April 23 with an aim of reaching out to 50,000 youth living here in order to cultivate religious awareness in them to make them more productive and goal-oriented in life.
Several events will be held prior to the final day of the conference, from February until the conference day. As part of these events, a ceremony to begin pre-conference activities was held in Grand Mosque’s auditorium here, recently.
Keynote speaker of the programme, Abubakr Falahi delivered his speech on the theme 'From Darkness to Light'. He said that today people are living in the darkness of ignorance, illiteracy, immorality, materialism, selfishness and greed, lack of values, lack of faith, superstitions, exploitation and political corruption. Allah being the creator of the world has already revealed the light to expel this darkness from the surface of the earth so that mankind can live in peace and harmony. That light is nothing but The Glorious Quran., he said.
Kuwaiti Scholar Sheikh Abdul Hameed Jasim Al-Bilali, president of Bashaer Al Khair Committee, launched the conference logo.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that enjoying what is right and forbidding what is wrong is prime duty of Muslims, which they should consider as their obligation.
Chief guest, Ahmed Abdul Rahaman Trewere from the departments of mosques of the ministry said that belief and steadfastness is the primary duty of believers.
IMA president, Muhammad Aslam launched IMA Youth Wing's website www.imayouthwing.org.
The programme began with the recitation of the glorious Quran by Minhajuddin followed by a presentation on the objectives and activities of the conference by Faheemuddin.
Finally, IMA Youth Wing president, Arshad Habib Khan delivered the vote of thanks.
Delegates from various organizations and large number of youth were present during the occasion. The programme was convened by Osama.
