Mumbai, Feb 10: The 49th annual day celebrations of Heggade Seva Sangh were held at Jayanti Vittal Heggade Memorial Auditorium located at Heggade Bhavan, Iroli, Navi Mumbai, recently.
Sangh president Vittal Hegde presided over the programme.
Surendra Kumar, president, ‘Kala Jagattu’ Tulu and Kannada theater troupe, was the chief guest. In his message to the gathering, Surendra pondered over the dedicated life led by the founders of their Sangh. Meanwhile, he called on the community elders to live an enlightened life in society by shunning ego, and by instilling these values in their children.
Bangalore Heggade Sangh president Karunakar Heggade commended the efforts of the metro’s community brethren in organizing the annual day celebrations despite the constraints of time.
Dakshina Kannada district Heggade Seva Sangh vice-president Sundar Heggade acknowledged the scholarship provided to him during his study in Mumbai by the metro’s Heggade Seva Sangh. He further conveyed that many such significant humanitarian tasks will empower the community youth to excel in studies.
Sangh honorary president K Sundar Heggade, and treasurer Shankar Heggade were present on the dais.
Sangh veteran members B C Heggade, N R Heggade, K S Heggade, and Sadanand Heggade were also present.
H D Heggade and wife, one among the founders of the Sangh, were honoured with the lifetime achievement award on the occasion.
Dr Anita Heggade, who bagged the doctorate recently, national sportswoman Shalini Heggade, Shradda Heggade, Ashwita Heggade, Shreya Heggade, and Meghna Heggade were felicitated for their significant achievements.
Arun Kumar Heggade inaugurated www.hegdesevasanghmumbai.com prior to the programme.
Various religious rites including a Satyanarayan Puja and prayers were held as part of the celebrations and concluded with cultural programmes.
Kala Jagattu troupe presented ‘Moksha’, a Tulu play as part of the cultural programme.
Sangh secretary Anand Heggade proposed the vote of thanks. Gopal Heggade and Divya Heggade compered the programme.
