FM stresses on role of tax admin for 'Aatma Nirbhar Bharat'

New Delhi, Jul 1 (IANS): Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday said that the GST administration will have a major role to play in the objective of 'Aatma Nirbhar Bharat' or self-reliant India and it must foresee the challenges faced by Indian companies to help them compete globally.

In a message on GST Day, Sitharaman said that the department has the strive to make the tax administration simple to bring in more ease of doing business.

"We must strive to make tax administration so simple that the taxpayers find it easy to comply with all their tax obligations. This is the true sense of Ease of Doing Business as far as tax administration is concerned," she said.

The minister highlighted that GST has come a long way in simplifying its administration, based on feedback from stakeholders.

Congratulating the officers of Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on the occasion, she called for focus on the Prime Minister's call for Aatma Nirbhar Bharat, efforts to make the tax administration simple for taxpayers ensuring ease of doing business and foreseeing the issues faced by business community and proactively addressing them.

"Sitharaman said that the department has the strive to make the tax administration simple to bring in more ease of doing business." - the report.

The GST structure introduced by the presenr Government is certainly the WORST GST structure in the world.

Many advanced countries have a single GST rate (with some basic necessities zero GST). Why? It becomes far easier for businesses to implement, and far easier for consumers...

...and THAT is EASE of doing business.

Instead this Government killed the business with a super-complex GST structure.

Whether anyone received financial aid package or no, has job or jobless everybody has to pay tax or give back to govt through higher fuel prices where prices for everything goes up including taxes. Govt is not at loss at all but people have lost even whatever little they had. This is as simple as it gets doing Marvadi business with BJP, madam.

After 'Vikas' now new baby Aatma Nirbhar' has joined the BJP's family. The Finance Minister may have forgotten the 20 lakh tax exemption package.

It seems her government is not willing to forgive the taxes of SME and MSME already in ICU.

Anyway enjoy your last few days as Finance Ministry. PM Modi's has already planned to give it to Junior Scindia who have defected to BJP helping bring the Congress to topple. As per the plan he wanted to announce before the byeelections for 24 seats. Yes! This is the same Scindia Royal family who betryed Jhansi Rani Laxmi bhai against British and got killed her in the battle.
