Cheap distraction, says Congress over Nadda's attack on Rahul

New Delhi, Jul 6 (IANS): After BJP president J.P. Nadda attacked Rahul Gandhi for not attending parliamentary defence committee meetings, the Congress party hit back saying it is a "cheap distraction" and asked why the meetings of the defence committee did not take place in the last three-and-a-half months at a time when the country is passing through such a critical phase.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said, "It's not important that Rahul Gandhi attended a meeting or not but the important thing is the questions that Rahul Gandhi is asking on Chinese transgressions."

The Congress spokesperson said that whenever questions are asked the BJP comes up with some other issue. They came up with the RGF (Rajiv Gandhi Foundation) issue but when the issue of the India Foundation and other BJP linked groups was raised, they came up with this.

Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala in a tweet said, "Daily insidious comments are making you look like a poorer version of malicious BJP spokespersons."

"Had the BJP & Modi Govt spent its energy in fighting China & supporting our armed forces, you wouldn't need to lie on Chinese transgressions to mislead the Nation," added Surjewala.

Taking a jibe at the Modi government, Pawan Khera said, "the Chinese attack is on our map but the government is banning app."

He said that the government is only interested in managing headlines but there is a limit to it.

Bharatiya Janata Party President J.P Nadda attacking Rahul Gandhi had said in a tweet that Rahul Gandhi "does not attend a single meeting of Standing Committee on Defence. But sadly, he continues to demoralise the nation, question the valour of our armed forces and do everything that a responsible opposition leader should not do."

"Rahul Gandhi belongs to that glorious dynastic tradition where as far as defence is concerned, committees don't matter, only commissions do," Nadda had said in another tweet.

"The Congress has many deserving members who understand parliamentary matters but one dynasty will never let such leaders grow. Really sad, " added Nadda.

"Had the BJP & Modi Govt spent its energy in fighting China & supporting our armed forces, you wouldn't need to lie on Chinese transgressions to mislead the Nation,". Tellies Lies, Indulging in falsehoods and Slander is their Trademark right from the PM himself

The country is fed up with the BJP talking about the Congress whenever national issue of importance are raised against the BJP.

When will they realise that they are not in the opposition like before 2014 and should take full responsibility for their acts of commission and Ommission during the six years of their Governance which has been a DISASTER.
