Nepal bans all Indian news channels except Doordarshan

New Delhi, Jul 10 (IANS): Nepal has banned all Indian news channels, except DD News, for alleged propaganda against the country.

Reports say that Nepal cable operators have stopped getting signals of Indian news channels.

Nepal government spokesperson Yuvaraj Khatiwada said: "We request all not to disseminate news that infringes sovereignty and self-respect of Nepalis. This includes the media of neighbouring countries. We might seek both political and legal remedies."

Earlier, Nepal has amended its map which shows some Indian territory as part of it.

Nepal's parliament on June 13 adopted unanimously the Constitution Amendment Bill, paving the way for accommodating the updated political-administrative map, which includes Indian areas of Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura, in its symbol.

    Couldn't stop my self replying and sharing some information being a Nepali.


    I was in Mangalore for more than 9 years. Mangalore is always the best place in the world for me and the Mangalorians are God and best human with so helpful heart. ( Even today, I follow diajiworld everyday morning)

    But, unfortunately Indian media is so so dirty and curse to India.
    They were showing so many fake news and trying to miss guide indians.
    Believe me or not, I had blocked those channels long back on my T.V.

    That's not the way you run a media. I don't know what to say more, but Indian Media is injurious to India. "Kisi nai sach kaha hai Godi Media". Don't judge anyone just because they are showing in news, that's fake, and believe me, for 1 min news line they make khichadi to speak for 1 hrs without thinking it's consequences.

    There is no other place like Mangalore in India and No humans like Mangalorians in the whole world.

    I have learned a lot from Namma kudla for more than 9 years.

    Please don't take it otherwise. I have shared truth and my feelings, though I have no rights to speak about your gov and media and nor your media had rights to speak fariy tale about our PM.

    Seeing by the below comments, I really feel pity on those fellow Indians who support the Nepalese ban on Indian news channels.
    1. The present situation in Nepal is happening due to communist chinese influence.
    2. Nepali PM Oli is already honey trapped by Chinese ambassador Hou Yanqi, who was earlier serving in Pakistan. Her anti-Indian stance is well known. Our poor commenters do not know the fact that the India-Nepal border issue was orchestrated by this lady.
    3. As we know, the chinks are offering huge loans for poor countries throughout the world and Nepal is not an exception. Chinks have cashed in this opportunity to fund Nepali communists to act against Indian interest.
    As commented below by Mr. Francis Lobo, India should have acquired Nepal during Independence which was eazy at that time.
    Finally, we can't deal Nepalese similar to Pakistanis and Chinese. First of all India should make a way to remove anti-Indian Oli from his position permanently.

    .. who told you that India had good relation with Nepal ? When Rajiv Gandhi was PM, India had bad time with King Birendra. India blockaded essential goods to Nepal during that time also. Later when the communist chinks started throwing biscuits to Nepali communists, the things went from bad to worse for India.
