Beltangady: Bajrang Dal workers blocking illegal cattle trafficking attacked

Daijiworld Media Network - Beltangady (SP)

Beltangady, Jul 20: When three cows and two calves were being transported in a pick-up vehicle in a violent manner, Bajrang Dal workers intercepted the vehicle and handed the animals over to the Beltangady police. The incident happened at about 3 am on Monday July 20.

It is gathered that the cattle were being transported from a house in Surya Padpu. Accused of cattle trafficking, Rajesh and his accomplices, fled by making use of an escort vehicle that was accompanying the pick-up vehicle.

At the same time, the Bajrang Dal team came to know that another gang connected with the cattle traffickers was transporting cows along with escort vehicle to the slaughterhouse. When the Bajrang Dal workers went near Guruvayanakere to nab the traffickers, the thieves escaped by attacking two Bajrang Dal workers, it is learnt.

The Bajrang Dal workers who came under attack have been admitted into a hospital. A COVID-19 pass issued in the name of P K Chicken Centre, Kankanady, Mangaluru, was recovered from the pick-up vehicle.

In PM Modi's India humans are 'lynched' for transporting cattle. In Brisbane Australia 'Brahman pies' is is served by Indians are the most delicacy. Ban in India and yummy in Australia.

Around 60 cows at a shed in Uttar Pradesh, whose chief minister has professed the protection of the “cow mother” as one of his priorities and set up a Rs 613-crore fund, have been starving as the government has stopped providing maintenance cash.

BJP govt is setting new records of meat export. Cows are starving in gaushala, while govt gives gauchar land to industrialists at throwaway price.

Holy cow! 100 tonnes of beef seized in Gujarat in 2 years.

Here’s a realistic projection of how much India would have to spend if the cattle slaughter ban is imposed.

The average bovine may live for 14-15 years, but it ceases to be “productive” to the farmer beyond eight or nine years. According to the 2012 Livestock Census, India has a cattle population of 190-odd million. Based on the years of productivity, around 22-23 million animals would ordinarily be out of the farming system.
If slaughtering is banned, that means the country is looking at an additional 10 million cattle every year, at an approximate total cost of Rs 22,000 crore to care for them. The question, then, boils down to: “Inko paaley kaun”?

If these Bajrang Dal has real love for this 'Gau Matha' why don't each member adopt unproductive pair of cattle from the 'Gau Shala' in their home till its natural death and give dignified rituals like humans after death?

    My friend,
Everything is ok but you seems to not knowing difference between what is 'legal and 'illegal' .There are rampant stealing of cattle which a farmer would have spent hard earned money to buy and feed them . All your sermons can keep for your self till you understand ground realities.

fishy tale - looks like 2 sets of goons tried to get even with each other. a law abiding person will go with evidence to the police, not take the law into his own hands - it is for the law to take necessary action.

No citizen / group has right to enforce laws of the land... if any law is broken or not followed, and if any one / group is aggrieved, they can approach police with details and proof. Taking law into one's own hand is illegal.

So many questions to ask... What were bd ppl doing on the road at 3am that too when lock down is introduced from 8pm to 5am? Wer the Bd ppl taken into custody for taking law into their hands? How did the bd person get to know abt the trafficking... R they keeping an eye on ppl o following ppl o tapping calls, which is illegal in the first place? Y dint the ppl Bd ppl inform the police on the matter and let the police do their duty? Did the bd ppl themselves check on the vehicles and hence tamper with evidences... This just looks like a cock n bull story to us...

These saffron guys must have asked for hafta and on not giving attacked the cow traffickers and got in return.

This is the reality. Most of the legal cow transportation happens with the protection of the saffron guys. Only thing, you need to give them hafta.

Yes. There are cases where cows are stolen by the traffickers. I do not say no and do not support such people. However, 90% of the legal cow trafficking is also attacked by the saffronists just to make quick bucks

I have not supported illegal cattle transport in the past, nor would I supporin future. But there are some queations. How did they know that cattle were being transported in that vehicle? Who authorised them to take the law into their hands? Did they inform or lodge complaint with the police? Are Bajarang Dal and other such outfits law unto themselves?

    Rathan,
There is a lit for stupidity. So, It is the duty of the citizen to curb the illegal activities. And every citizen is legally right to expose the anti social elements.

Is attacking and stopping the vehicle/people is the duty of every citizen?? Is it ok for you, when you're driving, people to stop you and check your vehicle?? Then why there is a system called judiciary in place? Why there is police who are paid by the tax payers expense??

Yes, make beef meat legally available in licensed shop to the consumer nobody is forcing to eat those don’t want eat. So that illegal cows trafficking will stop . Other wise only Bd team get the gain as haftas. I wonder in a democratic country why police Don’t discipline these self styled animal protector. When street dogs are everywhere in mangalore creating ruckus and chaos for the normal person why this Bd group not controlling them.
