Kasargod, Jul 22: Police personnel attached to Manjeshwar station in the district have succeeded in detecting a quintal of ganja concealed under heaps of banana bunches loaded in a pick-up truck on Tuesday July 21. The accused succeeded in giving the police a slip.

Based on reliable information they got, the policemen conducted the said operation on Tuesday evening. When the police were checking vehicles at Kunjathur Padavu, Manjeshwar, a pick-up truck which came that way suddenly deviated from its route and sped away through an inner road. The policemen who conducted a thorough check found 108 kg ganja packed in sachets. The police are now looking for the accused. The vehicle in question bears Karnataka registration number, and the number is fake, the police stated.
