Chamarajanagar, Jul 22: A groom from Kerala and bride from Shivamogga district exchanged wedding vows and garlanded each other at Moolehole check post in this district on Tuesday July 21. They did this to make sure that the quarantine rules are not violated.

The wedding happened at Moolehole, Karnataka border located in Bandipur tiger sanctuary in Gundlupet taluk of Chamarajanagar district which shares its border with Kerala. On Tuesday afternoon, the two exchanged garlands and the groom tied the customary mangalasutra around his would-be wife's neck to signify marriage. The couple had taken a decision to marry here in order not to transgress corona rule. They also wanted to avoid the rule to get quarantined if they crossed the state border.

The couple's marriage was fixed at an engagement ceremony held last month. Now, with the approval of family members, the two married on the road at the very beginning of 'Shravana' month that is considered to be auspicious as per Hindu calendar. Relatives, friends, and the officials of both the forest and police departments who were present at the border wished the newlywed couple all the best.
