Mangaluru, Aug 22: In a heartening news, a second PU student who was battling coronavirus managed to secure a top rank in CET.

Chirag S Rao, student of Chaitanya PU college in the city has secured 28th rank in BSc Agriculture section in CET. He was infected with coronavirus but faced the examination boldly and came out with flying colours.

The results of CET were announced on Friday, August 21. In addition to BSc agriculture, Chirag has secured 29th rank in BSc veterinary science, 46th rank in B Pharma/D Pharma, 32nd rank in yoga sciences and naturopathy and 214th rank in engineering.

Chirag tested positive for coronavirus just a week before writing the CET examination. But he did not have any symptoms. He attended the examination on a special vehicle provided by the office of the DC as he was having infection.

Chirag wrote his examination at the special examination centre at NITK Suratakal, which was marked for students who were infected with coronavirus. According to Chirag, he was the only student with coronavirus to write the CET.

Chirag wants to serve the medical sector in future. He says that he will decide whether to join medical or engineering after writing the NEET examination on September 13.
