Mangaluru, Aug 23: Entrepreneur Haji K Khalid Bava passed away in a private hospital in the city on the night of Saturday, August 22, following a brief illness. He was 88.
A resident of Coelho Lane here, Khalid Bava was the son of the late Haji K Abdul Khader Bava.
Khalid Bava was the former president of Zeenath Baksh Juma Masjid. He served as treasurer of Kankanady Juma Masjid for more than 25 years.
He also served as vice-president of Badriya Group of Institutions and was the director of Islamic Academy of Education Deralakatte. He was actively involved in religious and social activities.
Khalid Bava was the son-in-law of the late Yenepoya Moideen Kunhi.
He is survivied by three sons, two daughters and scores of admirers.
Funeral rites will be held on the morning of Sunday, August 23 at the campus of Zeenat Baksh Juma Masjid, sources said.
