Mangaluru: Pervert peeping into ladies PG thrashed by inmates

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Aug 26: A person with a distorted mindset, who used to frequent a ladies paying guest (PG) accommodation near Sharavu temple in the city to peep in, steal clothes and otherwise exhibit weird behaviour to get weird satisfaction, was caught by the inmates of the facility red-handed. He was thrashed by the ladies on the night of Tuesday August 25.

The PG in question houses over 40 ladies. For the last some months, the PG was frequented by a man who used to suddenly enter the building and do things like stealing clothes of the women, enter rooms and behave in an odd manner etc.

Twice in the past, he was caught and handed over to the police. It is said that the police did not take the issue seriously and let him off the very next day.

The lewd man entered the room of one of the inmates of the PG all of a sudden during late night hours, picked up her clothes, and kept it on the terrace of the building. As this act came to the notice of the ladies, they started to search for him, after which he was caught hiding in the terrace. The ladies together beat him up. It is said that he succeeded in fleeing and getting himself treated at a private hospital.

The accused is of Kerala origin, and the girls are fearful because of him. The girls feel that inaction of the police has emboldened the man to indulge in such things again and again. They are afraid that he might turn out to be a killer of women like Umesh Reddy, Cyanide Mohan etc. They have requested some efficient police officers to take personal interest in the matter and see that the ladies get proper protection from such people.

He seems to be really pervert.such people are more interested to peep the girls room ,collect their clothes and enjoy. Many times they keep cameras in toilets of women ,etc. They dont go the extent of killing or so.They fear and vanish away from spot with clothes .well one shouldnt underestimate them ,enter rooms without warning .He should be treated .Now police should really see that he should be admitted in hospital and not come to the PG again.Install a alarm system at the front door when someone traspasses.

    @ D'souza Mangalore,
If you remember, our Vishwaguru once said "Identify person by his cloths/outfits"! So, there are many people, who can easily tell the religion of the person in the picture!

    Ms. Swati,
Even if it was illigal PG or Home Stay, "Maanasikaas" are not allowed to enter.

    Are you legally in Dubai??

I remember that lady who was supposed to fight for women's right but was declaring that the said PUB had no license when the women were attacked in a PUB in Mangalore.

If that is not legal, are you justifying the attack or in this case are you justifying the behaviour of this man??

Kudos to the brave inmates of the ladies PG for thrashing the pervert at the risk of their lives. He could have done anything. His next place is not the jail but a psychiatric hospital. I am surprised how the police officials let him go on two occasions.

Unlike hostels PGs don't have warden or watchman. These are private houses or villas where the owner is all in one.

OK... But, then there's no safety for the people who stay in pg?? This is happening for the third time. Owner should take some measures to safeguard the pgs who are under his care....

"Twice in the past, he was caught and handed over to the police. It is said that the police did not take the issue seriously and let him off the very next day."
Police inaction in this regard need to be blamed. Police cannot simply neglect the incident by taking for granted that the man in question is mentally sick or abnormal.
There are many such cases and incidents where such abnormal mentally sick people go beyond any ethics to take advantage by acting as peeping toms, He needs some psychological treatment so that he can be corrected to avoid any such future incidents.
From his looks and disoriented nature one can come to the conclusion that he is mentally abnormal guy more than a pervert.

There is not much the police can do for just entering ladies hostel and keeping clothes on terrace. It would be better for such a big PG to have a watchman instead and install access controls.

Now his case will be judged by the religion yardstick. Since his name is not mentioned here, and depending on his religion he will be certified as Sex Pervert or Mentally unbalanced.

D'Souza... can you see anyone give comment about relating this incident as "religion yardstick" except yourself? You are instigating such issues into communal disharmony... Here the incident is relating to a pervert man doing wrong things and the local police/authority should sincerely look into this matter and take action. Don't even mention the term religion here...

Believe me it may not be long before all women pour out on the streets with chapathi rollers, chappals and brooms to teach lesson to such perverts prowling out there.

Being a woman myself is it wrong to ask with our leaders to focus more on protection of women.

Seriously D'Souza ? Modi for everything? Going behind peacock? That may be his personal time. He is also a human being. I think instead you should have questioned the local authorities right. Police have let him free twice. So its the local administration call. Modi cannot give personal protection individually. Grow up please!
