New Delhi, Aug 31 (IANS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday carried out a joint surprise check at the office of the Jammu Municipal Corporation over complaints of bribery and corruption.
A CBI official here said that the agency team along with the vigilance team carried out a surprise check at the office of Jammu Municipal Corporation over complaints regarding bribery and corruption in award of tenders and other functions such as preparation of birth and death certificates, sanitising works, hiring of vehicles and consumption of petrol in vehicles.
The official said that the agency is scrutinising documents collected during the surprise check. Earlier, the CBI team has carried out similar surprise checks at the office of Small and Medium Scale Industries Development Corporation in Jammu on similar complaints of alleged bribery and corruption in awarding tenders.
