Kundapur, Sep 5: Teachers Day was celebrated at government model higher primary school, Vandse by Mookambika Charitable Trust Vandse, school development committee and old student’s association. All the school teachers were honoured on the occasion.
Mookambika Charitable Trust secretary, Udayakumar Shetty said that the school is first to begin English medium classes in a government school from first standard. “The school has 364 students at present in association with teachers,” he said.
The trust’s treasurer, G Sridhar Shetty who chaired the programme, said that the school has reached a stage where everybody identifies it. Trust members, Thombattu Seetarama Shetty, C R P Nagaraja Shetty, APMC member Sanjeeva Poojary Vandse were present.
Free notebooks were distributed to scheduled caste children. Govardhan Jogi wished them well. School development committee president, Manjunath A G welcomed the gathering. The old student association president, Sandesh Shetty rendered the vote of thanks. SDMC vice-president, Sumathi compered the programme.
