Bengaluru: Veteran actor Siddaraj passes away after celebrating birthday

Bengaluru, Sep 8: Veteran cine actor known for character roles, Siddaraj Kalyankar, passed away during the late-night hours on Monday after suffering a heart attack at a hospital.

Siddaraj had acted in over 70 films. He was a native of Hubballi. On Monday, he had celebrated his 60th birthday on the sets of a tele serial. But late night on Monday, he suffered a heart attack. His end came in the hospital. His funeral will be performed at Hubballi, his family sources stated.

Siddaraj acted in tele serials, 'Ginirama' and 'Premaloka' aired by private television channels. He is survived by his wife and a son. Many dignitaries including director, B Suresh and Srujan Lokesh, mourned the demise of this senior actor. Director, T N Seetharam, in his Facebook post, recalled that Siddaraj had played the role of a grandfather in the serial, 'Mukta' in which Bhargavi Narayan had donned the role of the grandmother, and the viewers were very much in love with this couple. He said that Siddaraj was a talented artiste who was well-behaved and soft-spoken with a permanent smile on his lips.

Siddaraj had acted in a number of popular films including Sri Manjunatha, Super and Buddhivantha.
