Kadaba, Sep 10: Muzrai and Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, Kota Srinivas Poojary said that the government will give its stamp of approval for temple managing committees for temples under government control for which applications have already been made within a week.
Speaking to media persons at Kadaba on Wednesday September 9, the minister said that out of 34,000 temples in the state applications had been invited in respect of 86 'A' category temples, managing committees of which have already completed their terms. "Selection of committee members has almost been finalised and the police verification also has been completed. Approval for the list will be given by this week. In case of several more temples, the committees terms are expriing soon and we will seek applications. In the cases of B and C grade temple managing committees which have already lapsed, applications for new committees will be approved soon," he stated.
The minister said that there is a good response for the government's 'Saptapadi' programme. He said that this programme has been kept on abeyance now because of coronavirus infeciton. He said that temples have now been allowed to perform all kinds of services except community feast and processions.
