Bengaluru: Meeting with medical officers - Congress questions Vijayendra's credentials

Bengaluru, Sep 16: Several legislators, not only from the Congress but also from within the BJP, had expressed resentment at the clout wielded by B Y Vijayendra, son of chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa, in the corridors of power. Vijayendra had been addressed by some as the 'Super CM'.

The Congress through tweets expressed deep anguish at the fact that Vijayendra had held a meeting with the government medical officers on Tuesday. The party questioned how he participated in the meeting even though he does not occupy any constitutional post.

"Yediyurappa's son Vijayendra is neither the CM nor minister, MP, MLA or gram panchayat member. Still, he held meeting with government medical officers. Why did Vijayendra, who does not hold any official positions, hold the said meeting? Who gave him the authority to do that? His arrogance in poking his nose in administrative machinery for bargaining has dented the sanctity of democracy," the party stated.
