Mandya: Journalist Neralakere Harish killed in road accident

Mandya, Sep 19: Harish, a journalist and native of Jodineralekere in Honakere revenue division of Nagamangala taluk in the district, was killed in a road accident.

Harish was going to his native place, Jodineralekere, in his two-wheeler on Thursday night from Nagamangala, when the wheels of his vehicle skidded and he fell on the road with great force. His head received the maximum impact of the accident.

He was immediately taken to the governent hospital at Nagamangala and then Adichunganagiri Hoslpital at B G Nagar where initial treatment was provided. For advanced treatment, he was taken to a private hospital at Mysuru.

Efforts made by the doctors at Suyog Hospital failed to save Harish's life, and he breathed his last in the early hours of Saturday September 19.

Harish (30), had started his professional career through Kannada Prabha newspaper. He later worked as reporter for Prajavani and Vijayavani Kannada newspapers. Thereafter he used to file reports with local newspapers.

Harish is survived by parents, a brother and a sister. Funeral will be performed on Saturday at 10 am at his village, Jodinealekere.
