Udupi, Sep 26: Social worker Kinnimulki Krishnamurthi, along with artistes offered a rich tribute to renowned playback singer S P Balasubramaniam, who passed away on Friday September 25.
Krishnamurthi lighted the lamp in front of the photo of late Balasubramanian and offered a floral tribute. He and the other artistes recalled the hit songs sung by S P Balasubramanian by playing them on a gramophone in front of Jos Alukkas Jewellers shop in Maruti Veethika of the city.
Singer Dinesh Kodavoor, Subramanya Padigara, Gururaj Acharya Santhekatte, Susheelan and Harish Nittor sang S P numbers and offered a tribute to the late singer.
Gururaj M Shetty, president of Maruti Veethika Ganeshotsava committee, Dinesh Nagaraj Nayak, Rajesh Kalmady, Sunil Shet, Udayakumar, Muddu Sherigar, Srinidhi Medical Dr Laxmi, Prakash Bhat, dentist, S G Bhat, Sudhakar Sherigar, Prasanna Raj Mattadabettu, Ramanath Nayak Indrali and Anantram Pai were present.
The programme was organized by Ganesh Raj Saralebettu. Old songs of SP Balasubramaniam were played on the gramophone.
