Kuwait: Hot Stepper’s ‘Indian Carnival 2010’ Proves to be a Huge Success

Kuwait, April 12: Hot Stepper, the entertainment wing of Creative Indians Association, under the able leadership of its president, Prashanth D`souza, organized ‘Indian Carnival 2010’ on Friday April 9, 2010 at the Kuwait Entertainment City Doha from 2 pm till 10 pm.
Hot stepper is a group of employed professional individuals with varied talents and interests, united with the aim of promoting entertaining moments for the people of Kuwait with solo/group dances, musical gala, sporting events, theatrical performances and other art events. Having participated in numerous events in Kuwait and abroad, Hot Stepper group been able to gauge the pulse of the people and thus envision the demands of the ever changing entertainment tastes of the audience. They have organized various successful shows like the Indian Carnival, Indian Fiesta, DJ Aqeel Nite, DJ Akbar Nite, Dhamaka Nite, Hungama 2007, Dance Mania and so on.
The programme was kicked off at 6.30 pm with an introduction from the comperes of the evening, Merwin, Lloyd and Nita. This was soon followed by the quiz session, wherein the comperes got busy getting the crowd to learn more about the sponsors of the event and their products. Vibrant group dance competitions for the junior and senior categories followed in succession.
A local artiste, Neha, mesmerized the crowd with her wonderful voice. Indian ambassador to Kuwait, Ajay Malhotra, was escorted to the stage by the president of Creative Indians Association and honored with a bouquet. To mark this event, he released the souvenir in the presence of the president, Prashanth D’souza and vice president of Hot Steppers, Vinod D’souza. All the sponsors and choreographers were also felicitated with mementos, after which the winners in junior and senior categories of the competitions were announced. ‘Desi Strikers’ won the award in junior category whereas ‘Dillusions’ group was declared the winners in the senior category. ‘Desi Strikers’ had mesmerized the audience with their patriotic theme, complete with performers dressed up as Mahathma Gandhi and Indira Gandhi.
Sharib made a grand entry and the youngsters, who were all scattered around the Entertainment City, engrossed with the rides, were drawn towards the open ground. Sharib Sabri from Jaipur, who hails from a family of musicians, started singing at an early age. Sharib had performed in several television musical reality shows including the recent Music Ka Maha Muqqabla, in which he had been a member of the winning team of this keenly contested event. Due to his immense talent and popularity, he has succeeded in attracting top music directors from Bollywood. After doing several reality shows, Sharib has composed music for Raaz 2 (Vishesh film).
In between all this, the comperes were ready to shoot the second round of quiz questions and giving away gift vouchers to the winners. Second in row to entertain the crowd was the boy with a gifted voice and chocolate boy looks, Rahul Vaidya. Rahul has time and again proved to be a rocking performer. Rahul was the second runner up at the television show, Indian Idol, won the title in ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar’, and also walked home with the prestigious title in Music Ka Maha Muqqabla.
Last in row was another young singer, Toshi, who also is very passionate about music, having been from a musical family living in a small town near Jaipur. At the age of eight, he had started learning classical music from his father, Arkam Sabri, who today is a renowned classical singer. At the age of eight, Toshi started out in search of fame and was selected for the first National Vocal Competition. His performance was applauded by the industry veterans like Mahesh Bhatt, Jagjit Singh, Gulam Ali, Abhijeet, Aadesh Shrivastav and many more.
The programme, which thoroughly entertained all those present, came to an end at 11.15 pm.
