Bantwal: Organizations, political parties protest against governments' anti-farmer policies

Bantwal, Sep 29: Accusing the state and central governments alike of following anti-farmer policies, different farmer and labour organizations, as well as political parties, came together at B C Road on Monday September 28 to hold a protest.

Taluk committee of Karnataka Rajya Raita Sangha, Bantwal block Congress committee, JD(S), CPI(M), CPI, DYFI, AIYF, Manava Bandhutva Vedike, Praja Parivartana Vedike, coordinating committee of like-minded organizations etc participated in the protest.

Zilla panchayat members, Chandraprakash Shetty, M S Mohammed, taluk panchayat vice president, Abbas Ali, member, Sanjeeva Poojary, district Congress general secretary, Chandrashekhar Poojary, block Congress presidents, Baby Kunder and Sideep Kumar Shetty, district president of Raita Sangha, Oswald Prakash Fernandes, taluk president, Premanath Shetty Balthila, JD(S) state joint secretary, Ibrahim Golikatte, leaders, Rashid, and P A Ibrahim, SDPI state committee member, Anwar Sadat, district president, Ataulla Jokatte, labour leader, Ramanna Vittal, DYSF president, Surendra Kotian, secretary, Tulasidas Vittal, Prabhakar Daivagudde representing like-minded organizations forum, Raja Chandthimar of Manava Bandhutva Vedike, Seasppa Bedrakadu of Dalit Sangharsha Samiti, municipal councillors and leaders of different organizations were present.

When the protesters tried to block the highway, the police stopped them and convinced them against doing so.
