Mangaluru, Sep 29: The release of E Magazine API DK Lahari official publication of API DK chapter was held on Tuesday September 29 at 3.00 pm in Knowledge centre hall, Father Muller Medical College, here.
Dr Archana Bhat, secretary of API DK Chapter and production editor of the magazine welcomed the gathering.
Dr Sadanada Naik, senior physician at Alva's Medical Centre Moodbidri and executive editor gave an insight about the E-Magazine. He also conveyed to its members to be a platform for stress management for doctors and an avenue for the expression of one’s hobbies in literature, arts and academia. This E-Magazine is intended to serve as a platform to share medical knowledge among the medical fraternity and also help to evolve in various aspects of life.
Chief guest, Fr Richard A Coelho, director of Father Muller Charitable institution released the first issue of the online E Magazine API DK Lahari which was followed by a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony of the E Magazine release.
Fr Richard A Coelho addressed the audience with his motivational words deeming the magazine fit to the era in which virtual communication seals the gap between readers. The intention of the magazine is to help a doctor learn from the experiences of one’s own and the exchange of professional and literary intellect will be a bane for generations to come. He commended the efforts of the president and secretary of the API for their untiring efforts to their profession.
Dr J P Alva, dean of FMMC guest of honour in his message said that even though the pandemic continued through the new office bearers' tenure, they rallied through the virtual realm and made fans of the continuous education programmes which he himself follows ardently. He praised the efforts of its executive body to help members vent out their stress through the magazine. The job of an editorial team is a difficult one but their efforts will be very fruitful in the future.
Dr Chakrapani M, editor in chief (Professor at KMC Mangaluru) spoke on this memorable occasion and stressed on the importance of digital platform and his team to come out with such an initiative. The API since its existence 25 years ago has been in a continuous quest to update its members in the field of medicine and never missed a single activity, but with the release of the website and e-magazine of the API DK chapter, 25 years of success can be seen. When all went into hibernation during the pandemic, Dr Venkatesh and team worked on overdrive to bring members together through such new age approaches. The website has helped the API conduct much more activities and helped the members get closer. He thanked the Father Muller Charitable Institutions for its wholehearted support with logistics for the events of the API DK Chapter.
Dr Venkatesha B M, president of API DK Chapter in his presidential message conveyed the importance of more academic activities that need to be conducted by API and other academic bodies. He stressed on the fact that together we march on for a better future for the health of both – the patients and the physician.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Mohammad Ashraf, treasurer of API DK Chapter.
