Mangaluru: Retired chief surgeon of K S Hegde Academy Dr Devadas Hegde no more

Mangaluru, Sep 30: Dr Devadas Hegde (79), a popular surgeon from the city, passed away at his residence on Tuesday September 29.

Dr Hegde was a retired professor of Kasturba Medical College Hospital, former dean of A J Medical College, and retired chief surgeon of K S Hegde Medical Academy.

He is survived by wife, two sons and a daughter.

    A real great man. Humble and a gem of a person. Would not even charge when some poor people came to see him for consultation in his light house clinic. A wonderful soul and made his patients comfortable. Could go to him in confidence as he was a doctor who served. Will really miss him. A wonderful soul. My deepest condolences to his family.
