Mangaluru, Oct 3: Well-known TV host and actress Anushree has already appeared before the city crime branch (CCB) officials here responding to summons issued to her relating to Sandalwood's drug connection. Police sources said that chances of seeking her presence here again are remote.

Anushree was previously served with a notice to appear for questioning relating to the allegation that she was associated with dancer and choreographer Kishore Aman Shetty and Aqeel Nausheel who have been arrested on the charges of dealing in an intoxicant, MDMA. Anushree was questioned at the office of the assistant police commissioner at Panambur on September 26.

Anushree reportedly had said that she knew Kishore as he was a dance choreographer for her 12 years back and that she is no more in contact with him and that she has nothing to do with the drug parties. Taking into account the information she provided during the questioning and the entire investigation, it is learnt the police felt that there is no need to summon Anushree again.

It is said that on the next day she had got CCB notice, Anushee got in touch with some influential politicians in the state and through them brought pressure on the policemen to conduct an investigation in such a way that she did not face any problems. There are claims that because of this she was not even subjected to doping tests. But the CCB police have denied these allegations.
