'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam silver bullet for all humanity's problems'

Amaravati, Oct 4 (IANS): Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan on Sunday termed the ancient Indian philosophy of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (the world is one family) a "silver bullet" for all problems faced by humanity.

He propounded the idea while virtually participating as the chief guest at the valedictory session of the Sixth Parliament of World Peace, Religion and Philosophy, organised by MIT World Peace University in Pune.

As the varsity organised the parliament, an annual event, from October 2-4, the Governor said: "It is befitting that the organisers have chosen October 2 to organise the event, coinciding with the 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi."

He said Gandhi is the guiding force for the entire nation and today's youth can learn and benefit immensely from his teachings as the founding father looked at youth as agents of social transformation.

On the Covid pandemic, the Governor said the virus has created difficult times for the entire humanity as the fight is being waged against an invisible enemy.

"The battle can only be won when the whole world stands united to find an everlasting solution to end the menace," he added.
