Mangaluru: Ladyhill Victoria Composite PU College celebrates Gandhi Jayanti

Mangaluru, Oct 5: Every year October 2 is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti acknowledging worldwide Mahatma Gandhi's life and principles of non-violence.

To revere this day, students and teachers of Ladyhill Victoria Composite PU College held a special prayer service online singing the song 'Naki ki rah pe thu chal' and Bapuji's favourite song was also sung.

Jenisha, the school pupil leader exemplified the significance of the day.

Sr Annette, the assistant headmistress in her message called upon the students and the faculty to imbibe the values of responsibility, self-confidence, love for nature, reasoning, discovery and emphasized the need to be role models to others in order to build a stronger society.



To commemorate their occasion, an online drawing competition on the theme ‘Swach Bharat’ was conducted. Students were also encouraged to plant a sapling in their house garden and send pictures of the same and also to keep the surroundings clean.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Panchami Shenoy of class 10.

    Excellent. Social distancing rules are followed but in one picture children are together without masks. Keep safe!

    Impressive in all respects.Would that the days was celebrated throughout the country with same zeal n zest.The college has made the activities interesting .I guess learning there would be undoubtedly stress free.The students and staff as well has put in their blood and sweat in the event.Praiseworthy and appreciable.
