Andhra to establish new Shilparamam in Srikakulam


Amaravati, Oct 5 (IANS): Andhra Pradesh government has sanctioned an initial amount of Rs 3 crores to establish a new Shilparamam in Srikakulam district on Monday.

Similarly, the state government has also sent a proposal for Rs 11 crore to develop Visakhapatnam Shilparamam.

"We requested the finance department to issue directions sanctioning funds for Visakhapatnam Shilparamam," said an official.

Shilparamams are aimed at popularizing, promoting and preserving the cultural heritage of the country in general and Andhra Pradesh in particular.

Earlier, the state government sanctioned Rs 10 crore to renovate the Tirupati Shilparamam.
