J&K: 738 more test Covid-19 positive, tally tops 80k


Srinagar, Oct 6 (IANS): Another 738 people tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Tuesday in Jammu and Kashmir, taking the total number of people infected with Covid-19 in the Union Territory beyond 80,000.

A statement issued by the Information and Public Relations Department said of 738 people who tested Covid-19 positive on Tuesday, 290 are from Jammu division while 448 are from Kashmir division, as the total number of people infected with the dreaded virus reached 80,476 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Out of those, 65,496 have recovered completely while 1,268 have been killed by the virus including 16 patients who succumbed on Tuesday.

The number of active cases is 13,712 in Jammu and Kashmir out of which 7,352 are from Jammu division and 6,360 are from Kashmir division.
